Pakistan Flag on Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ Set Sparks Online Debate

Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar is in the spotlight — not just for its star-studded cast, but for a recent controversy that stirred reactions online. A behind-the-scenes image from the film set has gone viral, showing a Pakistan flag in the backdrop, which led many users on social media to express confusion, concern, and in some cases, anger.

Several users assumed it was a political statement or an intentional gesture. However, industry insiders have clarified that the flag is part of a film scene, likely portraying a cross-border storyline, and not a real-life political message. According to people close to the project, the film includes sequences set in Pakistan as part of the narrative, and the flag was simply a prop used during filming.

Despite the clarification, some netizens have criticized the filmmakers for not explaining the context upfront, especially given the sensitive nature of Indo-Pak relations. “They should’ve known this could be misinterpreted,” one comment read.

Ranveer Singh, who plays the lead in the movie, has not made any public statement yet. The production house has issued a short note saying that all props and visuals used are “aligned with the demands of the script.”

This incident reminds us of how easily things on film sets can be taken out of context in the age of viral content and social media. While the creative team insists it’s all part of the storytelling, the reaction online shows how important it is to handle cultural and national sensitivities with care.
