Father of Lt. Vinay Narwal Commends Army and J&K Police After Son’s Sacrifice in Operation Mahadev

In a moment filled with pride and sorrow, the father of Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was martyred during Operation Mahadev in Jammu and Kashmir, has spoken out to honour the bravery of his son and the forces involved. Speaking to reporters, he expressed deep respect for the Indian Army and Jammu & Kashmir Police for their coordination and courage during the intense anti-terror operation.

Lt. Narwal, along with other personnel, was part of a joint mission aimed at flushing out militants in the Kulgam district. The operation was successful in neutralising several threats, but it came at a high cost. Lt. Narwal was fatally wounded during the encounter and later succumbed to his injuries.

His father, though grieving, said he was proud that his son died serving the nation. “He did what he believed in. He always said he wanted to be where he could make a difference,” he shared. He also thanked the Army and local police for their continuous efforts in maintaining peace and responding quickly to such situations.

Operation Mahadev has once again underlined the risks our armed forces face every day. It also reminded the nation of the sacrifices made by young officers like Lt. Narwal, who serve with dedication despite the dangers.

Many in the village and across social media have come forward to express their condolences and appreciation. Local residents paid their respects with candlelight marches and silent processions.
