BJP Criticizes Karnataka Govt Over Stampede Report, Questions Blame on Kohli

The BJP has strongly criticized the Karnataka government over its recent report on the stampede incident during a public event, where several people were injured. What’s stirred further controversy is the mention of cricketer Virat Kohli’s name in the report, which the BJP has called “unfair and distracting.”

According to the report released by state authorities, the massive crowd turnout and lack of planning led to the chaos. However, it also mentioned that the presence of Virat Kohli may have contributed to the crowd surge. This part has not gone down well with opposition leaders.

Responding to the report, BJP leaders accused the state government of shifting blame instead of owning up to poor management. “They were quick to take credit when the event was announced, but now they’re dragging a national icon into the controversy,” a BJP spokesperson said. The party has demanded accountability from event organizers and local officials instead of pointing fingers at celebrities who had little control over on-ground arrangements.

Supporters of Virat Kohli also took to social media to express their disapproval of his name being linked to the incident, calling it unnecessary and unfair.

While the government has not officially responded to BJP’s criticism yet, the matter has sparked debate around event safety and political responsibility. Many believe that the focus should remain on how to avoid such incidents in the future rather than politicizing the aftermath.
