Telangana Turns 11: PM Modi Praises State’s Spirit, Vision, and Role in Nation-Building

June 2, Hyderabad — On the 11th anniversary of Telangana’s formation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered his warmest wishes to the people of the state, hailing their unwavering spirit and the state’s rapid progress over the past decade.

In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister said,

“My heartfelt greetings to the incredible people of Telangana on their Statehood Day. The state has contributed immensely to India’s development journey. Over the last ten years, our government has consistently worked to enhance the ease of living for every citizen in Telangana. May the state continue to achieve even greater heights.”

From Struggle to Strength: The Telangana Journey

Telangana’s creation on June 2, 2014, marked the culmination of a long, people-powered movement demanding self-governance and recognition of regional identity. Once part of the larger Andhra Pradesh, Telangana’s emergence as the 29th state of India was more than a political decision—it was a cultural and emotional turning point.

The state, covering over 41% of the area of the former Andhra Pradesh, has since carved out a bold and independent path. Hyderabad stands tall as a global tech hub, while the rest of the state has seen agricultural reform, infrastructure growth, and a renewed focus on education and health.

The People at the Heart of Progress

What sets Telangana apart is its people—the farmers, workers, students, innovators, and artists—whose energy fuels the state’s progress. The Centre has partnered with the state across sectors to boost development, expand digital access, and empower rural and urban communities alike.

Looking Ahead: A Vision Unfolding

Telangana’s story is still being written. As it celebrates 11 years of statehood, the focus is now on building an inclusive, innovation-driven future. The state’s resilience and ambition continue to inspire the rest of the nation.

From the legacy of struggle to the promise of a shining tomorrow, Telangana stands tall—and it’s only just getting started.
